POLITICAL FUNDRAISERS BEGIN

The political season has begun!  There are several fundraising events scheduled this weekend and early next week so as to take advantage of the Legislature’s October Interim Committee meetings.  Supreme Court Justice incumbent Spike Maynard will have a reception on Monday evening, as will State Senate candidates Mike Ross and Clarke Barnes, who will be running against one another.  In 2004, Republican Barnes defeated Democrat Ross for the State Senate.  Both of them are from Randolph County.  Also on Monday evening, the Democratic Leadership Committee will hold a fundraising event.  All of these, of course, are being held in Charleston.  Details are available to anyone who is interested.
