ICG BECKLEY CELEBRATES OPENING

With a full production expected in 2009 and a payroll of over $18.7 million, ICG Beckley, LLC will contribute $11.3 million in states taxes and $1.65 million in federal taxes at full production, as acknowledged in the opening celebration on Thursday, April 10, 2008.  The Beckley Pocahontas underground mine began production in September 2007 and is expected to produce high-quality, low-volatile metallurgical coal for both domestic and export steel markets.  Each job created at ICG Beckley will help to create and sustain six to seven additional jobs in the state economy.  Those jobs cover a wide variety of professions, ranging from suppliers and truck drivers to state inspectors, engineering consultants and lawyers, among others. Rickie Henderson will be the General Manager of the Operation which is located at 2221 Old Eccles Road, Eccles, West Virginia. Ben Hatfield, President & CEO of ICG gave a welcoming address at yesterday festivities, followed by an overview of the Mine Project by Sam Kitts and Bill Raney made remarks on behalf of the WVCA the Friends of Coal. Congratulations ICG on a very impressive operation.
