Wood County Delegate Dies Following Stroke
Wood County Republican Delegate Larry Border died Wednesday evening after suffering a massive stroke Tuesday evening.
Border, who turned 60 last Friday, was serving his 11th term in the House of Delegates, having won his first election in 1990.
A pharmacist, Border lived in Davisville with his wife, Anna. They have three children.
According to a Facebook post from his daughter Heather, Border suffered a massive hemorrhagic stroke Tuesday night that resulted in brain death.
He was transported to the St. Joseph campus of Camden Clark hospital where he died after being taken off life support Wednesday afternoon.
"Our entire party is sad today," said state GOP chairman Mike Stuart. "He was a champion for our party and this is just a very sad day."
Funeral arrangements for Border are pending.
