WV SCHOLAR PROGRAM

As a result of our continuing relationship with WV MetroNews, the Association is a partner in the WV Scholar Program that will award a full, tuition and fee scholarship to West Virginia Wesleyan College for an in-state 11th grader.  Twelve finalists have been selected from the more than 200 high school juniors who competed for the $90,000 scholarship that will be awarded on June 4th in Buckhannon.  Hoppy Kerchival will do his daily talk show from Wesleyan that day leading up to the award luncheon.  The public can vote on line for one of the twelve finalists at www.wvmetronews.com. One vote is allowed per email address and more than 6,000 people have voted as of Friday morning with the voting to remain open until May 31st.  Reviewing the twenty semi-finalists’ applications and interviews provided renewed confidence for the emerging generation and the fact that there are leaders ready to step forward.
