MSHA POLICY

MSHA has issues a new policy PIL No. 108-V-03 which provides direction in evaluating new plans and for the “re-evaluation” of previously approved extended cut plans. The Policy encourages MSHA District Managers to consider whether approval of the plan is appropriate if dust samples are excessive or if quartz concentrations exceed 100ug/m3.
