The elections this November will be the most important in history for the mining industry. Control of the White House and both houses of Congress are in play and the implications for the future of mining are far-reaching.
With this much at stake, we want to encourage your distribution of NMA’s Mine the Vote program information to your employees, vendors and other business partners to help educate and mobilize mining community voters this fall. It is vital that our supporters are fully engaged and equipped with the tools and information to make sure mining’s voice is heard on November 6.
We have re-designed and enhanced our Mine the Vote online platform to achieve these goals by allowing our supporters to:
- Easily register to vote in the 2012 election
- Find their closest polling location, where to vote early, and register for absentee ballots
- Learn about public policy issues impacting mining nationally and in their state
- Find out which candidates NMA PAC’s support in your state
- Use our interactive map to find the latest news and information on their candidates and learn how, where and when they can vote
- Get the latest mining news and stay up-to-date on mining developments and stay connected with Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
We encourage you to visit www.minethevote.com and most importantly, share this information with your employees, retirees, vendors, and community allies.
It is critical that we cast as wide a net as possible to ensure the entire mining community is aware of this tool and engage in the fall elections. To that end, we have created a promotional Mine the Vote video that is publicly available on NMA’s You Tube page and can be found here.
