CliffsDonates to West VirginiaStorm Relief Efforts

PINEVILLE, WV– July 19, 2012 – Cliffs Natural Resources Inc. (NYSE:CLF) (Paris:CLF) announced today a $10,000 contribution to the Volunteer WestVirginia Food Bank Fund. The fund was established after recent damaging stormsand power outages affected most of the state. Storm relief efforts have beencoordinated by West Virginia Governor Earl Ray Tomblin’s office and VolunteerWest Virginia.

“Cliffscares about our communities and wants to do our share to assist relief effortsfollowing these devastating storms,” said David Webb, Cliffs’ Senior VicePresident of Global Coal Operations. “Cliffs’ donation will assistorganizations already in place to help those hardest hit and least able to copewith the recent destruction.”
TheVolunteer West Virginia Food Bank Fund in partnership with the Mountaineer FoodBank and Huntington Food Bank distribute food to the community feeding programsand food pantries in areas most directly affected. Thousands of state residentslost most of their basic food materials due to the power outages. Togetherthese food banks supply more than 50 counties in West Virginia, provide services to nearly900 programs, and since the storm have delivered several hundred thousandpounds of food.

“Thefood drives have been another example of how West Virginians come together in times of need. The monetary donationswe have received will go a long way in restocking the barren shelves in ourstate’s food pantries,” stated Gov. Tomblin, in an official release.
