Since the official launch of our online tool to have comments submitted against EPA’s proposed existing source performance standards this past week, more than 4,700 people have signed the petition. The tool has already almost doubled the total number of signatures collected during the month we used it to collect comments for the new plant source performance standards. With almost two months to go during the comment period, we hope to collect 10,000 signatures.
We have utilized email blasts to our Friends of Coal database as well as our social media network to raise awareness of the petition. The photo above was sent to us by one of our supporters ready for use as a billboard ad for the effort. The photo is of her son wearing his father’s mining helmet. We would like to thank Josh and Megan Wells for their help.
We will also be developing supporting radio spots and a short videocast to help drive the petition forward.
The petition is available at www.friendsofcoal.org/soundoff. Please take a moment and sign our petition today.
