Public outreach and education efforts for the Friends of Coal continued this week, with West Virginia Coal Association Senior Vice President Chris Hamilton speaking to the Ripley Rotary at their weekly meeting in Jackson County and Bill Raney visiting with the Community Advisory Panel at Arch Coal’s Beckley Mining Complex in Eccles, WV.
In addition, the Association hosted a group of Wheeling Jesuit healthcare students for an informational session about the Association and the impact of the coal industry on the state’s economy.
Additional events are being scheduled, with two more groups of Wheeling Jesuit’s College “Coal Tours” program set for the Oct. 21 and 22 and a group of Princeton University students visiting on Oct. 27.
