Oil and Gas Concerns to be Discussed
Also on Monday (6/11), a group of Association members will meet to discuss recent activities of the oil and gas industry and their effect on producing mines and reserve coal. Some oil and gas companies have filed requests for changes in spacing requirements, hesitated on plugging CBM wells and continued to encroach, without permission, on mine permitted properties. The group will also begin preparing a legislative solution to these problems. The meeting is to be held on the 11th floor of the Kanawha Valley Building at 300 Capitol Street in downtown Charleston, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Any member having an interest in these issues is encouraged to attend. Please let Sandi know if you plan to attend by calling 304-342-4153.
