We have made many reports on the existence and development of bi-reforming and tri-reforming technologies, wherein the Carbon Dioxide by-product of our Coal-use industries can be reacted with Methane to synthesize higher hydrocarbons, including liquid fuels.
Of special interest to us has been the work and reportage of Penn State University; one of whose scientists, Craig Grimes, based on his knowledge of the potential for such technology, stated publicly, with regards to proposals for the mandated geologic sequestration of Carbon Dioxide, that: "Burying CO2 is ridiculous".
We have also reported for you that some US Patent applications have been made, by foreign entities, such as one we've identified for you recently from scientists in Korea, which specify CO2 recycling technology that seems, to us, very similar to that described by Penn State.
All of those technologies entail reacting Carbon Dioxide with Methane, which, as you should by now know, can itself be synthesized, via the 1912 Nobel Prize-winning Sabatier process, from CO2; or, via any number of gasification techniques, many of them patented by major petroleum companies, from Coal.
As it happens, West Virginia, as with the technology for Coal liquefaction in the old Union Carbide Coal hydrogenation plant near Charleston, many decades ago, might again have been ahead of everyone in the science of Carbon Dioxide recycling, as the United States Patent, enclosed via the above link and attached document, excerpted below, documenting an invention by a West Virginia scientist, attests:

Abstract: Methanol is made by a process that involves feeding natural gas, steam ... and ... carbon dioxide to a single bed type reactor."

We see no need to reproduce more detail. This forty years-old West Virginia invention, in the Patent schematics, clearly shows the "natural gas" - identified in the document text to be, specifically, Methane, being fed with H2O and CO2, all together, into a reactor; with Methanol, like the golden egg coming out of the magic goose, being excreted at the other end.
We remind you: Methanol is a compound of extremely great value. It is a serviceable liquid fuel in it's own right, but can, through technologies we've documented for you and which are being internationally commercialized, be converted into Gasoline; and, into raw materials for the manufacture of plastics.
And, yet again: The Methane required to recycle Carbon Dioxide can be made from Carbon Dioxide, or Coal.
We have known all of that in West Virginia for more than 35 years. And, we Mountaineers, who are supposedly "Always Free", are still allowing ourselves, and our vital Coal industries, to be shackled by Cap and Trade taxation; and, to be potentially enslaved to Big Oil through mandated Geologic Sequestration in withering petroleum reservoirs.
If Mountaineers are to be Always Free, it will be the Truth that sets them, and keeps them, free.
But, this Truth, this West Virginia Truth, that Carbon Dioxide can be profitably recycled into liquid hydrocarbons, like any truth, can't do it's job of liberation unless it gets heard.
