Tell the PSC we can’t let the Pleasants Plant close!

File A Comment With The WV Public Service Commission To Keep The Pleasants Power Plant Operating!

On 3/31 Mon Power submitted a letter of intent to the WV PSC to extend the operation of Pleasants Power, for up to an additional 12 months.

Mon Power is requesting approval to lease the facility in order to keep the employees gainfully employed while they continue their analysis of the plant. This lease agreement would keep the station operational and prevent its closure on Мау 31.

We are extremely grateful to Mon Power for taking this step and we are prayerful that after the public comment period is complete, that the WV PSC will approve the request.

We are also prayerful that the owners of Pleasants Power will approve the extended operation of the plant until a more permanent solution is identified.

We are asking all Friends of Coal to help keep the Pleasants Plant operating !

The process is easy and only takes a minute.

RE: Case No. 22-0793-E-ENEC

Greetings:

I understand the PSC is considering First Energy's request to keep the Pleasants plant in a state of readiness and all plant workers employed until the plant resumes full operation.

I am writing to inform you that this is prudent and appropriate and I am in full support of this proposed action.

The Pleasants plant is one of West Virginia's most efficient plants serving to power millions of residential and industrial customers.  It also provides base load power which is in full demand today as more gas and renewables come online.  A diversified energy portfolio is the only way to insulate our residents and customers from the weather and natural gas price volatility that has wreaked havoc on energy grids across our country.

For these reasons and so many more - like the economics and overall health for the local communities and surrounding counties - I fully support keeping Pleasants operating as a coal fired power plant.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
