We actually recorded it quite a long time ago; but, it became lost among the, quite literally, 10,000+ reports and references we have recorded and in preparation concerning the facts that both Coal and Carbon Dioxide can be converted or, respectively, recycled into gaseous and liquid hydrocarbon fuels and chemicals, and, that Coal Ash can serve as a mineral raw material for the manufacture of construction materials or as an "ore" for the extraction of valuable compounds and elements.

We were at work researching and polishing another report, on another of the potentials for productively utilizing the solid residua that arise from our essential use of Coal in the generation of truly economical electrical power, when we stumbled into the information concerning that same issue we present herein.
You might want to be alert for that other report, which will follow in a few days.
Right now, our working titles are: "Coal Ash to Help West Virginia Gain 80,000 Jobs", and/or, "West Virginia Ships to the World on Coal Ash Highway"; and, the furtherance of such lofty goals as intimated by those titles might well hinge on our discussion herein.
Carbon Dioxide can be reacted with Water and made to form Methanol.

First, we submit a statement made by the United States Environmental Protection Agency, via the document we enclose herein, not long after the EPA was conceived of and, through Executive Order, founded, by that notoriously impractical idealist and environmentalist, President Richard Millhouse Nixon:
"(The) SASOL ... complex is amply proven successful for the manufacture of gasoline from coal."
